those sun-kissed souls

 

you shut your heart,
thinking no one again, can tear it apart,
of course, it’s to remain unhurt,
but in the most silent way,
it is violence at play,
inside you there’s a cyclone,
you hide an uncontrollable unknown.

enter the sun-kissed souls,
“be yourself!”, she cajoles,
these ones who leave niceness with you,
that changes everything, then you get through,
and you breathe,
fresh air around you,
which they bequeath.

and just like the sunset,
with them in that moment,
all the threat,
softens in you.
then,
there are only two things you need,
to feel in your skin to succeed,
to be carefree,
and
to say things as you see.

this soul will walk you home,
where you truly belong, to your throne,
and you keep your glow,
so, never, again, ever, you feel low.
